There is no financial aid available to undergraduate international students at Georgia Tech
The I-20 for F-1 visa holders will be issued AFTER you have: been officially admitted to Georgia Tech AND submitted this
form along with proof of financial support for your studies. Freshmen must have also paid their deposit.

Important—READ CAREFULLY:
All international applicants who need to apply for an F-1 student visa must show proof of sufficient funds to cover the first full year of
expenses at Georgia Tech. This form MUST be accompanied by an original bank statement (see requirements below) verifying that the
sponsor has the equivalent of at least $40,190 USD in an account to support the applicant’s first-year expenses at the Georgia Institute
of Technology. The name on the bank statement must exactly match the name of the sponsor in part 3 of this form. All documentation
must be certified—signed and stamped by a bank official in a color other than black.
Financial documents become property of the Georgia Institute of Technology and they will not be returned. Students may wish to keep
copies for their own records. Please note that most US consulates and embassies require current original documents at the time of visa
application.
Requirements for Bank Statement or Letter:
ORIGINAL document(s) issued directly from Bank (photocopies, scanned copies, or faxes are not accepted)
Written in English (any supplemental translations must be certified)
Funds must be “liquid” (such as checking or savings) Business Accounts or Insurance Policies are not accepted.
Indicate explicit numerical balance (most current) of the account
Currency in US Dollars (USD). If not in USD, the exchange rate for USD should be listed
Dated within the last six months
Certified Document (all pages signed and stamped by a bank official in a color other than black)
Examples which ARE acceptable: loan or award letters stamped or certified by a lending institution; original bank letters signed by a
bank official; original bank statements issued directly from the bank.
Examples which ARE NOT acceptable: photocopies of bank letters or statements; accounts in the name of a business; Internet bank
statements; bank letters without the name of the account holder or the account number; accounts with a maturity date in the
future;letters which do not specify the availability of at least the minimum amount per year; or life insurance policies.

These are the current estimates. Costs may actually be greater due to inflation and other increases in costs.
These estimates are for two semesters (Fall & Spring). Students planning to attend a third semester (usually
Summer) will need to add $18,062 to the annual cost. Financial documentation need only show the
minimum amount for Fall & Spring.
