NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
SUBJECT:
Oversight of the 2015-2016 State Budget and the agencies and programs that
are under the purview of the Committee on Economic Development, Job
Creation, Commerce and Industry and the Committee on Small Business
PURPOSE:
To review the implementation of the State Budget and its impact on the programs
under the purview of the Economic Development, Job Creation, Commerce and
Industry Committee and the Committee on Small Business

The Economic Development, Job Creation, Commerce and Industry Committee oversees the
State’s economic development programs administered through the Department of Economic
Development and the Empire State Development Corporation. In addition, the Committee is
responsible for oversight of the State Liquor Authority. The SFY 2015-2016 Department of
Economic Development’s budget is $84.6 million, the Empire State Development Corporation
budget is $57.9 million and the State Liquor Authority’s budget is $18 million. The Small
Business Committee shares in the oversight of the programs funded through the Department of
Economic Development and the Empire State Development Corporation that impact small
businesses in the State. The purpose of this hearing is to examine the overall impact of the
2015-2016 budget on economic development programs and the implementation of State funded
initiatives at the State Liquor Authority.
Ten copies of any prepared testimony should be submitted at the hearing registration desk. The
Committee would appreciate advance receipt of prepared statements.

publicize these hearings, please inform interested parties and organizations of the Committee’s
interest in hearing testimony from all sources.
