Place Value Chart With Decimals
A digit’s place in a number is important as it tells us what the digit is worth.
We use the digits 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 to make all our numbers even when using decimals.
For example the amount 469.24 to 2 decimal places
4 signifies 4 (hundreds)
6 signifies 6 (tens)
9 signifies 9 (units)
Then you have your decimal place
2 signifies 2 (tenths)
4 signifies 4 (hundredths)
Now you can see this example in the place value chart.
