Motor Vehicle Excise Tax Abatement Application
An Application for Abatement does not stay the collection of the motor Vehicle Excise Tax. Timely payment of the
bill (within thirty days of the issue date) will avoid all interest and penalties. In the event an abatement is granted due to
sale, trade, theft, total loss, or overvaluation, the amount abated will be refunded to you. (M.G.L. Ch 60A) Applications for

bill date, if the bill is issued after December 31
of the year following the year of the tax bill. .
If any of the situations listed below apply with regard to the enclosed excise tax bill, please complete this form and supply
copies of the specified documents. Return a copy of this form and all supporting documents to Natick Assessors, 13
East Central Street, Natick, MA 01760. Failure to supply all requested information will result in delay or denial of
the abatement.
If this bill remains unpaid for more than thirty (30) days after its issue date, it will accrue interest, other charges
and fees. Your drivers license and/or vehicle registration will also be submitted to the Registry of Motor Vehicles
for non renewal action. Partial Payments cannot be accepted.
