Homework in third grade includes nightly reading. Your child should read a minimum of 20

minutes each night. In addition to reading, your child also needs to complete a short summary

(minimum of 3 sentences). For fiction, this should include the beginning, middle and end of

what was read. For non-fiction, this should include at least 3 facts. If more than one book is

read, choose one book for the summary. Record the total minutes read and PLEASE SIGN the

log. Reading minutes will not be counted if a parent signature is missing. Reading logs are

expected to be turned in on Friday mornings.
