Goodwill Industries of Northern New England Veterans Fund
This fund has been created by Goodwill Industries of Northern New England
to benefit stateside veterans’ unmet needs.
Who is Eligible?
 All stateside veterans currently living in Maine, regardless of discharge status, with priority given to
those who have served in combat zones.
 All spouses and children of fallen soldiers.

One time financial needs such as:
Recurring financial needs such as:

Car repair (include written estimate from garage)

Housing payments

Fees for licensing exams or educational courses

Monthly basic necessities

Heating fuel (maximum 100 gallons)

Medication/medical procedures

Travel expenses for work or appointments

Outstanding debt (including utilities,
rent, credit card payments, etc.)
How will a decision be made?
 All applications will be reviewed by a committee of volunteer veterans.
 Applicants will be notified when their application is received and again when a decision has been
reached.
 Goodwill of Northern New England will contact the applicant and/or referral source with requests for
additional information, if needed.
How will funds be distributed?
 Goodwill of Northern New England is a third-party payer; funds will not be given directly to the
applicant but will be paid directly to a business. To expedite request, please ensure all the appropriate
information is completed on the application.
How to apply
 Please apply in-person. Applications are available at:
o Vet Centers (Sanford, Portland, Lewiston, Bangor, Caribou)
o Goodwill Workforce Solution Centers (Portland, Brunswick, Biddeford, Belfast, Rockland, Augusta,
Lewiston)

 Requests may not exceed $1,000. Only 1 application per 12 month period.
 A copy of applicant’s DD214 or a Casualty Form must be attached for consideration.
