CCS will begin an optional summer reading program this year. In order to receive extra credit for

participating, your rising 3

grade student will need to complete one of the following reading assignments

this summer:

1 chapter book and 10 picture books

3 chapter books

Please see the suggested reading list for rising 3

grade students. The reading log must be returned to the

grade teacher on the first day of school. Students returning their reading log will receive an extra credit

grade of 100 in the subject area of reading for the first quarter. If your student reads beyond the

requirement stated above, they will receive an extra credit grade of 100 in the subject area where

needed most for the first quarter of the school year.
