Research Paper Proposal

You will be writing a paper proposal that informs me of the topic you wish to research for this

assignment. The proposal will be a minimum of one page long and will be comprised of several different

paragraphs.

Your proposal must include:

Introduction to the topic of the proposal

o What do you want to research?

o Why did you choose this topic?

Explanation of the significance and a statement of goals

o What is some significant information that you already know about this topic?

o What do you hope to accomplish by completing this research?

Research Points

o What are the points that your research will focus on?

o For each point explain the significance.

Statement of Intended Audience

o Who is this research for?

o How will the audience influence your research and/or writing?

Description of Methodology?

o How are you going to complete this research?

o What types of sources will you use?

Each of these sections should be a minimum of a paragraph long (6 or more sentences). Use this

assignment to really begin to think about what you will be writing about in your paper. You may arrange

the proposal in any order that you feel makes sense.
