Health and Safety Policy
PURPOSE:
The purpose of this procedure is to implement the COMPANY NAME’S Health and Safety Policy in its
workplace in compliance to the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Federal:
The purpose of this procedure is to implement the COMPANY NAME’S Health and Safety
Policy in its workplace in compliance to the Canada Labour Code Part II for Occupational
Health and Safety.
Also, this procedure will establish an attitude in all employees to work in a safe and healthy manner.
PROCEDURES:
Owner – General Manager’s responsibilities:
To prepare a written occupational health and safety policy
To review at least annually the written occupational health and safety policy; it must be signed and
dated annually (see Annex A or B)
To develop and maintain a program to implement that policy
To ensure a copy of the signed and dated occupational health and safety policy is posted on the
Health and Safety Bulletin Board, at a conspicuous location in the workplace
To train and orientate the employees on COMPANY NAME’S health and safety policy and related
programs
To review with the workplace Health and Safety Representatives the occupational health and safety
policy and related safety programs
Health and Safety Representative Responsibilities:
or Joint Health and Safety Committee Responsibilities (Provincial)
or Workplace Health and Safety Committee Responsibilities (Federal with no Policy
Committee)
or Policy Health and Safety Committee Responsibilities (Federal with Policy Committee)
