Lab Report Example
* This is an example of a lab report that I would write for my vinegar and baking
soda experiment (example that I gave in class)
PURPOSE: The purpose of this experiment is to determine if different types
(brands) of baking soda produce more fizz when mixed with vinegar.
HYPOTHESIS: I don’t think it will matter what brand of baking soda I use as
they are all made of the same thing.
MATERIALS:
3 pop bottles (no lids)
12 cups of vinegar
2 tablespoons of PC baking powder
2 tablespoons of no name baking powder
2 tablespoons of arm and hammer baking powder
PROCEDURE:
1. Number the bottles 1, 2 and 3.
2. Add two cups of vinegar to each empty pop bottle
3. Add two table spoons of the PC baking powder to bottle one and observe.
4. Add two table spoons of the no name baking powder to bottle two and
observe.
5. Add two table spoons of the arm and hammer baking powder to bottle
three and observe.
