NEWBORN CHECKLIST

____Anything personalized with baby's name: bib, blanket, picture, family heirlooms that have been



passed down or will be passed down to baby, bassinet, blanket, dress, jewelry, etc.

____Hair bows/ball caps to match outfits



____Favorite blanket or stuffed animals



____Anything that matches the nursery theme



____Props that you want, like daddy's boots or hat, anything that will show how small baby is



compared to mommy or daddy. They don't stay this small for very long!

____If you want to do some pictures with mommy & daddy’s hands and feet, they need to be



clean/polished and maybe some lotion if they are dry. I know this seems trivial, but with a newborn,

lots of little things get overlooked and I understand that....lol…but we’ll probably getting some close

ups of those.

____Mommy & Daddy need to bring a black shirt in addition to anything else they may want to wear.



Since it will be against a black background and the whole purpose is to 'hide' them, any long sleeved

black shirt will do.

____Wear wedding rings. When the pictures only show the hands and the baby or baby parts, it's



hard to decipher that it is a mommy's hand and a daddy's hand so the rings help bring that out.

____Mommy & Daddy's clothes should kind of match each other's too. Both in jeans with white shirts



makes for really crisp pictures....especially if the baby is in colorful clothes. They don't have to

match exactly, but similar looks best, at least in color. One rule…either everyone wears white or no

one wears white.

____Blanket for baby. I love bare feet and naked babies!!! But it does get chilly for the little ones



so bring a nice comfy blanket to wrap them up in between pictures. Also, some extra diapers and

maybe even extra clothes is a good idea. They tend to tinkle when they get naked and cool.

____Nothing is off limits so if you have any ideas of your own, PLEASE bring those too :o)


