VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Graphic Design Intern

DEPARTMENT: Marketing

REPORTS TO:

Senior Director, Marketing

JOB SUMMARY:

Movement is intrinsic to who we are as humans. We live in a moving world. MS stops people from moving by

interrupting the smooth movement of information through nerves. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society exists to

help people move forward with their lives and to move us to a world free of MS.

In order to meet the strategic response from National to engage volunteers on all levels of the Society and to engage

people with MS in volunteer service the Pacific South Coast Chapter of the National MS Society is seeking a

Graphic Design Intern want to flex their graphic design skills for a quarter, semester or all year. Gain real-world

experience in production, develop an understanding of branding while working with an established corporate

identity, and build a client-based portfolio. Must be an upbeat self-starter, organized and enjoy a fast-paced work

environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Marketing and Promotional materials (posters, brochures, ads, etc.)

Print Advertising

eCommunications

Wearables design (t-shirt, jerseys, pins, medals)

Web and social media (videos, graphics, etc.)

Fliers and mailers

Other design and production project

SKILLS:

Knowledge of Adobe CS products a must (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)*

Ability to work well independently, incorporate suggestions and to meet deadlines

Creative and good team player

Strong knowledge of Internet

10-15 hours/week, flexible scheduling based on school load

Preference given to students nearing graduation junior or senior years) or recent grad

*Intern may be more comfortable using own computer; final files need to be PC compatible
