Dear Parents,

I'm in the process of setting up an email project for our class. I would like the students to have "key pals"

from another state or country (this is similar to a pen pal project). In order to do this, I have

to assign them a screen name for sending and receiving email. I have found a website for

school email called Gaggle ( ) that I would like to use for this project. I can

assign screen names to each student and they will be able to send and receive email through

their Gaggle email account. However, unlike other programs, I will be able to monitor

everything they write. All messages can be screened by me if I feel that is necessary, and if

students use any inappropriate language, their email message will bounce to my account

instead of going on to the recipient.

As a parent, you will be able to monitor your child’s email messages because I plan to send you the user

name and password for your child. This is a great opportunity for your child to learn about email in a safe,
