The Class will cover basic admissions and occupancy, minus Income and Rent Calculation and Housing Quality Standards, both of
which are covered in separate classes. The Agenda will track the Housing Choice Voucher Guidebook and will include all updates
since its publication. The Guidebook along with update information will serve as the training material for this workshop. Training will
include group exercises and case studies. A certification exam will be offered the last day of the training. There is no extra charge for
the exam. The Agenda will include:

About the Trainer
JOANN RODRIGUEZ - is currently Regional Supervisor with Allied-Orion Group, a company that provides management services to
housing authorities and tax credit properties across the state. Before taking this position, she was the Manager of Housing/ Executive
Director for the City of Mesquite’s Housing Division (over 1400 vouchers). Prior to that she served as VP for Housing Operations,
Dallas Housing Authority, overseeing a portfolio of over 4000 market, tax credit, section 8 project based, and low rent units and VP of
Voucher Programs for DHA, where she managed over 16000 vouchers. Before going to work for DHA, she was Deputy Director for
four years with Plano Housing Authority, where she oversaw daily operation of both Public Housing and Section 8. In these positions
she has been involved in the development of policies and procedures as well as staff training and coaching. She is a Certified Public
Housing Manager and is certified in Section 8 HCV Executive Management, HCV Financial Management and Reporting and HCV
Regulatory Management, Eligibility and Rent Calculation, Blended Occupancy Specialist, a Certified Tax Credit Compliance Specialist
and a Texas Certified Occupancy Professional/Public Housing.
