HONOULIULI SPECIAL RESOURCE STUDY
COMMENT FORM AND MAILING LIST SIGN-UP
1.
What is your vision of commemorating the WWII internment experience in Hawaii?
What types of activities, and where?
(for example, designation of a historic site, recognition of
a location with a monument or plaque, educational programs, outreach to families and descendants, visitor
center or displays, activities and special events)
2.
Actions that the NPS may consider through this study could include:
Accepting donation of the land at Honouliuli Gulch and managing the site as a national historic site or
other unit of the national park system;
Opportunities for the public to visit and learn about the internment experience at Kilauea Military
Camp, which is already within Hawaii Volcanoes National Park;
Technical assistance to public or private landowners who wish to commemorate the internment experi-
ences that occurred on land they own.
What do you think of these ideas, and what others would you suggest?
3.
What sites, locations, stories, and/or subjects do you think the National Park Service
should consider in this Special Resource Study?
(Please use the reverse side of this form for any additional ideas you would like to share.)

It is the practice of the NPS to make comments and contact information available for public review. Individuals may request we withhold names and/or addresses,

ranted invasion of privacy. Unsupported assertions will not meet this burden. In the absence of exceptional documentable circumstances, this information will be
businesses
released. We will always make submissions from organizations or
, and from individuals identifying themselves as representatives of or officials of
organizations or businesses, available for public inspection in their entirety.
