Interstate Seniors – Application for
a Gold Senior/Pensioner Opal card
This form is for use by interstate Seniors Card holders only.
Interstate pensioners holding a Pensioner Concession Card issued by Centrelink or the
Department of Veteran Affairs should apply through the online application form at .au
IMPORTANT
You need to attach a photocopy or scan of your Seniors Card (front and back) with this
application.
Gold Senior/Pensioner Opal cards for interstate seniors are valid for 60 days from the
date of issue.
You should only submit this application two weeks before you need to travel as your
application will be processed immediately.
If you need to travel in NSW for longer than 60 days, you will need to submit a new
application when your card expires.
We recommend that once you receive your Gold Senior/Pensioner Opal card, you
register it at
or over the phone at 13 OPAL (13 67 25), so we can
remind you of its expiry date.
Section A – Conditions of issue and use
To be eligible for a Gold Senior/Pensioner Opal card, you must be the holder of a valid government
issued Seniors Card, issued by an Australian State or Territory. You will need to attach a copy of
your Seniors Card (front and back) with this application.
The Gold Senior/Pensioner Opal card gives you half-fare concession travel in the Opal network
(Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Hunter, Illawarra and Southern Highlands), capped at
$2.50 per day. An additional station access fee applies when travelling to or from Sydney Airport
Domestic or International stations.
Gold Senior/Pensioner Opal cards for interstate seniors are valid for 60 days from the date of issue.
Using the Gold Senior/Pensioner Opal card is subject to the Opal Terms of Use, available at
