ESIDENTS

OVING

UTILITIES AND POST OFFICE

 Contact the Post Office to notify them of your new address. We do not forward any mail.

 Call electric, gas, and phone company to request final meter reading MG&E 252.7222, Alliant Energy

1.800.862.6222, Sun Prairie Water and Light 837.5500. (if applicable)

 Call Madison Water Utility to request final meter reading @ 266.4641 (if applicable)

 Stop all other deliveries: newspapers, magazines, etc.

NOTE: Utility bills must remain in your name until the last day of your lease; review your lease

documents for details regarding unpaid bills.

ASSEMBLE ALL KEYS

 Include all entry, apartment, mail box, and storage keys.

 Return all Parking tags and Garage door openers.

GENERAL ITEMS (throughout apartment)

 Sweep and/or vacuum floors (We will have the carpet cleaned. If you have stains on your carpet, you may

want to treat those as we will charge for anything beyond normal wear and tear.)

 Wipe down walls, baseboards and woodwork

 Replace any burnt out light bulbs

 Check smoke detectors - You will be charged for the re-installation and/or the replacement of any smoke

detector that is not in its properly installed place.

 Clean windows and window sills. Dust all blinds

 Check lights and clean fixtures and fans

KITCHEN CLEANING

 Empty and clean your refrigerator. Defrost freezer (if not frost free) and wipe out thoroughly.

DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR REFRIGORATOR!

 Clean oven using oven cleaner (follow directions carefully), if not a self cleaning oven.

 Wipe off top of stove, including underneath burners and burner pans/rings.

 Clean stove hood. Clean boiler pan (if applicable) and place it in oven.

 Empty and Clean inside/exterior of kitchen cupboards/cabinets

 Clear and clean counter tops and sink areas.

 If you have a garbage disposal, check it to make sure it is working properly.

 Clean floor (sweep and mop)

BATHROOM CLEANING

 Clean bathtub, toilet, and sink (use appropriate cleaner that will not damage.)

 Empty vanity and/or medicine cabinet and clean. Clean mirror.

 Clean floor and baseboards.

 Clean light fixture and fan

BEDROOM(S)

 Vacuum carpet/sweep floor.

 Clean walls and woodwork.

 Clean shelves in closets and remove marks. Closet doors should open and close.

 Clean windows and window sills
