The Duncan Academy East has received requests from parents interested in having our teachers babysit
for their children during off hours. We do not employ individuals for in-home care, however, we will
happily take a babysitting request form from parents and offer our teachers the chance to independently
contract babysitting services directly with parents. Before submitting a babysitting request form, please
read the information below about the babysitting arrangement and contact us with any questions you
may have.
•
Babysitting events are held outside of the Duncan Academy facilities (generally in the child's
home). Babysitters are not employed by the Duncan Academy or The Duncan Academy East
during babysitting events. Babysitters are independently contracted by the parents for services.
The Duncan Academy and Duncan Academy East are, therefore, not responsible for the
babysitters or their actions during babysitting hours.

The Duncan Academy and The Duncan Academy East does not receive any form of compensation
for babysitting services. If you choose to hire one of our teachers to provide babysitting services
for you, The Duncan Academy and the Duncan Academy East will not be responsible for the
arrangements made between the babysitter and parents including, but not limited to, planning,
care and financial compensation before, during and after the babysitting event.

Teachers have the right to decline any babysitting job offered to them.
•
All babysitters found through our babysitting request program who parents choose to contract
directly with a teacher must return home immediately to care for your child if your child has a
fever above 100* or your child needs medical attention. The babysitter will provide medical care
to the best of his/her ability until you arrive. Ability will vary based on the babysitter you choose
to contract with.
