Organization:
I plan what I am going to write:
(Pre-write, story map, outline)
I organize my information in a logical sequence.
I develop one idea in each paragraph.
My writing has a clear beginning, middle, and end.
Content:
I use information and details which relate to my topic.
I develop my ideas fully.
I use complete sentences.
I use correct grammar in my sentences.
Mechanics:
I use capital letters appropriately.
I use periods, commas, quotation marks, question marks, and
apostrophes correctly.
I indent for a new paragraph.
I spell words accurately.
I read over my work to check for errors and I correct them.
