Name_____________________
You can use the chart on the back of this activity sheet to help you figure out SKUNK strategy.
Questions to think about and answer:
1. How many different rolls result in losing points (for a round or the game)? Each time you roll,
what are your chances of losing points?
2. What are your chances of rolling two ones, thus losing all of your points?
3. Standing players score points when a one is not rolled. What is the average point total that you
should expect to score when a one is not rolled? You do not actually have to compute an average to
determine the average point total, you may be able to tell from the chart on the back of this sheet.
4. Now that you have thought about the first three questions, think about a general strategy for
playing the game of SKUNK. After how many rolls does it make sense to sit down? Explain your

many points should you expect to score in each round? How many points for the entire game?
Explain your reasoning.
