Possessive Nouns
A possessive noun is a noun that shows who owns, or possesses, something.
Use the following rules to form possessive nouns.
Add an apostrophe (’) and -s to a singular noun.
the lizard’s claw
the reptile’s skin
the mother’s eggs
Add an apostrophe (’) to a plural noun that ends in -s.
the parents’ nest
the insects’ tongues
the dragons’ teeth
Add an apostrophe (’) and -s to a plural noun that does not end in -s.
