Building Scarecrows
Rationale:
As part of our theme of celebrations this term the children will reflect on Harvest. Having found clothing and straw scattered around the small
playground they will receive a letter from the local farmer asking for their help in making a Scarecrow. They will draw, paint, collage and de-
sign a variety of Scarecrows and their clothes. They will use books to find out about Scarecrows ,what they are used for and make ta scarecrow
for the school garden. They will pretend to be Scarecrows, listen to stories such as The Scarecrows Hat and Tattyboggle and learn songs about
Scarecrows .
