SUBMISSION POLICY
The Service Member or Veteran must be currently serving or have been Honorably Discharged from the Military.
The applicant, a resident of New England, must be the service member or eligible dependent.
The hardship must be due to one of the following:
Deployment
Lack of employ ability/loss of income
Military/VA-compensated illness or injury
Natural disaster
The Hardship cannot be caused by:
-Civil, legal or domestic issues, misconduct, or any issues that are a result of spousal separation or divorce
-Financial mismanagement by self or others.
All grants are paid directly to the creditor and not to the applicant.
Ineligible Expenses:
Credit cards, military charge cards or retail store cards
Personal, student and payday loans
Travel, Funeral Expenses
Cable, Internet, or secondary phones
Investigational or cosmetic medical procedures
Taxes
Child support, alimony, or legal expenses
Military debt, or debt owed to a friend/family member
Furniture, electronic equipment or vehicle rentals (unless needed for employment, education or medical reasons)
Down payments on homes, vehicles or insurance deductibles
Reimbursements for items already paid for
Bills obviously due to excessive use or mismanagement
The WTFI and the WTFI Financial Assistance Program reserves the right to make
exceptions on a case-by-case basis to the afore mentioned criteria.

You must include: A copy of your DD214 and of the bills for which you are requesting assistance.
Once we have received your completed application, a representative may contact you to discuss the specifics of the
case and/or to request additional information. This contact does not imply approval of your application. The approval
process normally takes 5-10 business days.
We will contact you as soon as a final determination has been made in your case
Please Note: We are unable to respond to status check requests while your file is being processed. If you have not
received contact from us after ten (10) business days from submitting your application, please contact us.
SECURITY NOTE: To protect your personal information, you should redact (make unreadable) the first five numbers
of your SSAN and any medical diagnoses on forms such as your DD 214 and VA Disability Determination Letter. If
you wish further protection, you can further protect your personal information by using a secure “zip” program such as
7Zip.
