Liberal Arts Core Curriculum
Advising Guide • 2014 – 2015
The Liberal Arts Core Curriculum (LACC) is a required part of all BA, BS, and BFA degree programs and comprises a minimum of 54 of the
180 credit hours necessary for graduation. WOU’s faculty has designed the LACC to prepare students for advanced study in their academic
majors and to help students develop a foundation of basic knowledge necessary for a more successful personal and professional life.
General education and degree requirements for the Bachelor of Music and Honors Program may be found in the WOU Catalog.
Completion of graduation requirements is the responsibility of the student.

It is critical
that students consult with their academic advisor as they select LACC courses. Many majors and minors have prerequisites
or suggestions for coursework within the LACC. Courses completed as part of the LACC and/or BA/BS/BFA requirements may also be
used to fulfill requirements within a student’ s major or minor program–refer to your advisor. Transfer students who have not completed
an approved transfer degree should meet with an advisor in the AALC. Exceptions to the following requirements may be an option.
