Calculating the Sun-Moon Phase in Your Natal Chart

To Calculate the Sun-Moon Phase you will need to know the total degrees between

the Sun and the Moon. Here’s how to do it:

 Move in a clockwise direction from Sun to Moon.

 Each Zodiac sign holds 30º.

 Add the total degrees between the positions of the Sun and the Moon.

 Find the phase of the Moon that has that number of degrees.

 This is your Sun-Moon Phase.

There are three calculations:

A. The Sun’s Position: Calculate the # of degrees REMAINING in the Zodiac sign

where the Sun is located.

--- ______º Subtract the Sun’s Position

______º Remaining Degrees

B. Add the degrees from the total number of complete Zodiac signs separating

the Sun and Moon:

TL # of Zodiac signs _____ X 30º = ________º.

C. The Moon’s position within the Sign it occupies : ______________º.

Now simply add the three quatities together: A + B + C = _________________º.
