Each team of architects will design and build the ultimate roller coaster for Center Grove
North Park. This design must be recorded in the form of a blueprint. This drawing should
include the EXACT elevation of each hill, diameter of the loops, angles of descent, and the length
of the coaster. REMEMBER TO USE THE METRIC SYSTEM! The students must be able to use
their blueprint throughout the construction phase since they will tear down their coaster each
day and rebuild it the next.
As a group, you will build your coaster over three lab periods. It should be finished by
the beginning of Friday’s class! At the end of each period the coaster will be completely
unassembled. Keeping an accurate blueprint is the key to being able to reconstruct your
coaster.
