Student Recording Sheet
Draw a picture (map) of your ideal neighborhood on the graph paper provided. You must include homes, trees,
streets, and a sun (with a diameter of 1”). You may include anything else you want in your neighborhood. Be sure
to label all your homes and name all your streets. You will use these names and labels when you write your
description.
When drawing your neighborhood, be sure to include at least six of the geometric terms described here: circle,
intersecting and parallel lines, convex and concave polygons (optional), and regular and irregular polygons. Use
these terms when you describe your picture.
Describe the parts of your neighborhood using the terms above. You should use at least six terms when describing
your neighborhood. Be sure to write about how you made your sun.
