There are a few reasons why a cessation is filed - (1)when the business stops; (2)is sold to a new owner; (3)the business name or its

structure is changing; (4)a new owner is added; or (5)an existing owner departs. A "complete" cessation is filed for all of these reasons

except one - when one owner departs- a "partial" cessation can be filed. This is done by the remaining owner(s) when the departing

owner leaves. Under this "partial" cessation the business can continue on without interruption. All of the other foregoing reasons require

a "complete" cessation. All of the registered owners must be listed on a complete cessation.
