NOTICE TO DEMOLITION APPLICANTS
The following list of items must be satisfied within 30 days prior to the demolition of any structure in the
City of Wylie.
1. Complete the Demolition Permit Application and gain issuance of a Demolition Permit.
2. Commercial and public projects must satisfy the Texas Department of Health’s requirements
for asbestos. The Texas Department of Health Asbestos Programs Branch can be reached at
1-800-572-5548 or 512-834-6610.
3. All electrical and natural gas utilities must be removed completely from the project site or
made safe in a manner approved by this office.
4. Sanitary sewer should be removed back to the City of Wylie utility easement or right of way,
shall be permanently capped below grade and inspected prior to coverup.
5. The water service shall be permanently capped below grade and should be removed to the
private property side of the water meter location.
6. Storm water tie-in connection to the City of Wylie storm sewer should be removed or
protected per directives of the City of Wylie Engineering Department 972-516-6400.
7. Demolition shall include the removal of the slab and piers unless otherwise allowed by the
City of Wylie Building Official or his representative.
8. Clean and remove all debris from the project site.
9. Satisfy a Final Inspection within 10 days of the completed demolition by calling the City of
Wylie Building Inspections Permit Department at 972-516-6420 and request a final
inspection .
Some of the above items apply to commercial demolition projects only, while some
apply to both residential and commercial demolition projects. If clarification or
