HELP PRESERVE DELAWARE’S FARMLAND
Purchase the Farmland Preservation License Plate, and your dollars will immediately be used to support
continued efforts to preserve Delaware’s farmlands. There is a one-time purchase price of $50 for this
special plate. The Delaware Farmland Preservation Fund will benefit by receiving $35 of the purchase
price, while the remaining $15 covers the cost to manufacture and issue the special plate.
FOLLOW THESE EASY STEPS
1. The Farmland Preservation License Plate may be displayed on cars, station wagons or trucks,
except for IRP apportioned vehicles.
The regular plate number or vanity plate assigned to your vehicle can be displayed on this
plate.
Other special plates (alumni, organizations, handicapped, retired police, etc.) cannot be
displayed on the Farmland Preservation Plate. You may, however, purchase a Farmland
Preservation Plate (using your regular plate number) for the rear of your vehicle and use
your special plate on the front.
2. Complete and sign the application on the reverse side of this form.
3. Send your completed application and $50 check or money order to DMV Administration Office,
Special Tag, P O Box 698, Dover, DE 19903. The check must include 1.) Name and address, 2.)
Driver’s license number, and 3.) Daytime phone number to reach you if we have any questions.
4. The Division of Motor Vehicles will mail your plate directly to your mailing address. Upon receipt,
you may replace your old plate with your new plate. It is not necessary to return your old plate.
Please allow approximately six weeks for delivery.
Important Notice: When a vehicle is sold (transferred), the tag number goes with the vehicle. In the
event you trade or sell your vehicle and wish to keep your Farmland Preservation Plate, you must
appear at DMV with the title to that vehicle to place the tag in retention for your use on a vehicle at a
later time. The titles to both your old and new vehicles must be presented to the DMV for the switch.
Title fees will be involved. Please contact your nearest DMV Lane for further information.
You cannot request tag changes or vanity tags using this form.
