PETITION FOR DELAY OR WAIVER FROM SOPHOMORE SUMMER REQUIREMENT
Return to the Office of the Registrar, 105 McNutt
NOTE: Students should not make sophomore summer plans prior to petitioning, such as committing to
employment or other off-campus experiences, with the expectation that they will necessarily obtain a waiver or
delay. The Registrar may approve up to 40 waivers per class. There must be special circumstances, and the
student must demonstrate that it will "enrich that student's academic program." "Complete waiver of the summer
residence requirement, as distinct from a shift in summer, will be granted only in truly exceptional circumstances,
such as significant enrichment of the student's academic program, cases of demonstrable serious financial hardship,
a serious personal or health problem, or participation in varsity athletics in the fall, winter and spring terms of
every year."
