Character Sketch: The Giver

Detailed Directions

A character sketch is meant to show personality, attitude toward issues of moral and ethical

value, and to give a well-rounded description of who the character is.

Step 1:

Draw a picture of the character from the options given to you (Jonas, Gabriel,

Asher, The Giver, Mom, Dad, Lily). This should be a neat drawing depicting the

physical traits of the character. What you think they look like, or would dress like

in this community from what you have read so far.

Step 2:

Describe the character through a character sketch. Describe attitude towards issues, personality,

what do they love/hate, beliefs (religious or about society). Essentially, show me who this

character is by explaining them in a well-rounded description. You must include a paragraph

description of this character sketch in the back of your drawing, neatly written or typed out with

no grammar or spelling errors. Edit thoroughly.
