INSTRUCTIONS & NOTES
1. Please fill in the required information in Sections A and B.
2. Under the Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) Registration Scheme (CPS Scheme), power adaptors
for Power-Assisted Bicycle (PAB) must be registered with SPRING Singapore and bear the “SAFETY Mark”
before they can be sold in Singapore. The SAFETY Mark helps consumers identify Controlled Goods that
are designed and produced to specified safety requirements. For more information, please visit SPRING

3. Please check that you have the following for application to type approve PAB (in English):
• Customs inward declaration
• Detailed technical specifications and pictures from catalogue
• Conformity certificate to show that the PAB complies with EN15194:2009+A1:2011
• Test reports for the PAB issued by recognised independent testing bodies (e.g. TUV) that are specifically
accredited to perform the relevant tests of EN15194:2009+A1:2011 standard to show compliance.
• Manufacturer’s sales receipt and invoice
• Bill of Lading
• Applicant’s original NRIC
• Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority(ACRA) printout valid up to 30 days from date of issue (if
relevant)
4. Please check that you have the following for application to seal PAB (in English):
• Type approval letter for the respective PAB make/model
• Customs inward declaration
• Bill of lading
• Manufacturer’s sales receipt and invoice
• Applicant’s original NRIC
• Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority(ACRA) printout valid up to 30 days from date of issue (if
relevant)
5. Please submit separate applications at the LTA-authorised inspection centres (AICs) for type approval and
for sealing of PABs. For example, if 5 units of the same make and model of PAB is produced for approval
and sealing, you need to fill up one application form for type approval and sealing of 1 unit of PAB, and a
separate application form for approval and subsequent sealing of the remaining 4 units of PABs.
6. Every PAB must be produced for inspection and sealing at AICs. For the list of AICs, please visit the

7. LTA or its authorised inspector may request for any other relevant documents to support the application and
inspection process. They may also request to retain the PABs for further assessment before approval/
sealing.
8. The AICs will charge application fees for approval and sealing of the PAB. Please contact the respective
AICs for their rates.
9. The processing time for type approval application may on average take up to 2 - 3 weeks.
10.Consent to the Collection, Use or Disclosure of Personal Data
We may share personally identifiable data that you have provided in this application with other Government
agencies, so as to serve you in a most efficient and effective way. We will not share your personally
identifiable data with other entities, except where such entities have been authorised to carry out specific
Government services or in accordance with legislation under the purview of the Land Transport Authority to
enable us to perform our functions or duties or to comply with any order of court or in compliance with any
written law, or for the purposes of taking any action against any user for breach of the conditions of use of the
Authority's electronic services.
Data provided by the Authority may be used for verification and record of your personal particulars, including
comparing information from other sources, and using the information to communicate with you.
