Code of Conduct
Goal & Mission
Provide a safe, meaningful and healthy environment where sportsmanship, fair play and
fun are the primary objectives.
Code of Conduct
In order to uphold the Goal & Mission of the City of Yuma Parks and Recreation Youth
Sports Program and ensure that all have a safe, fun and learning environment, the City of
Yuma has established a Code of Conduct and consequences.
All parents, guardians, and other attendees of Youth Sports Programs, including but
not limited to practice or competitions, must behave in a respectful, courteous, and
sportsmanlike manner at all times.
Infractions and Consequences for inappropriate behavior at youth sports events:
1. Alcohol, tobacco, or electronic vapor smoking devices are prohibited at Youth
Sports Events. Users will be asked to refrain. If refused, at the discretion of the
Site Supervisor or Sports Official, users will be told to leave.
2. Anyone who appears under the influence of any substance, at the discretion of the
Site Supervisor or Sports Official, will be told to leave and the Yuma Police
Department will be called.
3. Anyone who attempts to intimidate, verbally abuse, heckle, taunt, throw objects
and/or use vulgarity or profane language/gestures with any persons may receive a
verbal warning or, at the discretion of the Site Supervisor or Sports Official, be
told to leave.
4. Anyone who physically assaults another person will be suspended from all City of
Yuma Parks and Recreation Youth Sports Programs for a period of one (1) year
and the Yuma Police Department will be called.
5. Anyone threatening another person may be suspended from all City of Yuma
Parks and Recreation Youth Sports Programs for a period of one (1) year and the
Yuma Police Department will be called.
Anyone committing one of the above offenses will be subject to disciplinary action as
outlined above.
Anyone committing a second offense will be suspended from all City of Yuma Parks and
Recreation Youth Sports Programs indefinitely.
