Power of Attorney form can only be used if:

You sold your boat to an Illinois resident-not valid for non-residents.

The previous owner does not have the Illinois watercraft title. The Power of Attorney will take the place of the

original (lost) title issued to the previous owner(s). If the lost title is ever recovered, it will not be valid and

must be returned to the Department of Natural Resources, Watercraft Registration, One Natural

Resources Way, Springfield, IL 62702-1271.

If our records list a lien on the title then you must have a letter from the lienholder releasing the lien. Then

submit the Power of Attorney and the lien release letter with your application and fee for a title/registration.

Instructions:

The seller(s) must complete and sign the Power of Attorney Form.

The purchaser(s) must complete the watercraft application form and submit with the Power of Attorney form,

release of lien (if required), tax form (if required) and fee.
