The Auction dealership name must reflect the type of business for which the license will be granted.
The Auction dealership must have a working telephone that is listed with directory assistance in the auction dealership
name. Cellular or mobile telephones are not acceptable.
Submit the completed application and supporting documents to our office. No fee is collected until after the auction
dealership has been inspected and approved by our office. An investigator from our office will contact you to schedule
an inspection.
After the inspection return to our office the application and supporting paperwork, the Inspection Report, and the fee in the
proper amount made payable to NEBRASKA MOTOR VEHICLE INDUSTRY LICENSING BOARD. Please do not send
currency.
ISSUANCE OF THE AUCTION DEALER BOND TO REFLECT OWNERSHIP:
If applying as an individual owner, the bond will be issued as Name of individual owner dba name of dealership.
If applying as a partnership, the bond will be issued as Names of partners dba name of dealership.
Corporate owned or LLC owned auction dealerships: The corporation or LLC must be registered with the Nebraska
Secretary or State.
If the name of the corporation or LLC already reflects auto auction, the name of the auction dealership can be the same.
For example, Big Red Auto Auction, Inc. would be registered with the Nebraska Secretary of State and could be the name
of the auction dealership. The bond would be issued as Big Red Auto Auction, Inc.
Otherwise, the bond would be issued as the corporation or LLC dba name of the dealership. An example would be,
Jones and Sons, LLC dba Panhandle Auto Auction, in which case Jones and Sons, LLC would be registered with the
Nebraska Secretary or State. The auction dealership’s sign, telephone number, and advertising would be in the “doing
business as” (dba) name: Panhandle Auto Auction.
The original bond with original signatures and notary is submitted with the auction dealer’s license application. An out of
state agent must provide a copy of their Nebraska Producer’s License. The applicant should keep a copy of the bond for
their records.
