Hearing Loss Table
A table for determining compensable percentage of hearing loss that has been promulgated by the
Commission is set forth below.
All determinations are to be made (i) without the use of a hearing aid; and (ii) with a pure-tone
audiometer by air conduction alone. No allowance for presbycusis is to be made.
Hearing loss in decibels is to be recorded at 500, 1,000, 2,000 and 3,000 cycles per second. The
audiometer must be calibrated to the ANSI 1969 standard.
The average decibel loss is to be translated into percentage of compensable hearing loss of each ear
according to the following table:
