License application must be completed, signed and all requested information provided or application
will be returned.
Lifetime licenses are valid anywhere in the state. If you buy a lifetime license and later move out of
the state, your license will remain valid any time you return to Louisiana to hunt and/or fish.
Lifetime Licenses are issued from the Baton Rouge office only. Lifetime licenses cover basic fish-
ing, saltwater fishing, basic hunting, big game hunting, bow hunting and primitive firearm,
state duck license, turkey stamp and the WMA hunting permit. (Recreational gear and Federal
duck stamps are not included)
Requests for a duplicate lifetime license to replace a lost, stolen, or destroyed license must be
accompanied by a completed and notarized affidavit for duplicate license.
The cost of duplicates is $7.50.
Hunters born on or after September 1, 1969, are required to successfully complete a hunter educa-
tion course before obtaining a hunting license of any kind in Louisiana. The department will issue a
lifetime license to any person who has completed the course and has been certified; however, a tem-
porary lifetime license certificate will be issued to any child who has not completed the Hunter
Education course, or who is not of certifiable age. (Certifiable age is 10 and over.) After completion
of the course and notification of the Hunter Education number, a valid lifetime license showing the
certificate number will be issued to him at that time, free of charge.
If the application is for a gift, the application must be accompanied by all supporting documents
required, but the purchaser will sign the application and the application will be marked as a gift.
