If you want $5 to go to help candidates for state office pay campaign expenses and you did not make a designation on your 2017 Minnesota
income tax return, you may do so on this return. Enter the code number for the party of your choice where indicated. If you choose the gen-
eral campaign fund, the $5 will be distributed among candidates of all major parties listed on the return. If you are filing a joint return, your
spouse may also designate a party.
Designating $5 will not reduce your refund.
Your 2017 return should be electronically filed, postmarked, or dropped off by August 15, 2018.
The final deadline to claim the 2017 refund is August 15, 2019.
