Suggested Gear List for Cookout/Campout Class
Pack your gear in a soft-sided bag; no wheels, please
Eating Utensils:
Sample Cookout & Campout Trainee Gear List
Drip (net) bag, clothespin (optional)
Knife, spoon, fork (unbreakable)
Unbreakable bowl, plate, cup (aka “mess kit”).
Clothing: Weather-Appropriate
No paper/disposable, please.
Bandanna (for drying your hands)
Other:
Hat
Adult Activity Waiver, signed
Long pants/jeans/shorts
1” 3-ring Binder (optional) for class Hand Outs
Rain gear (so it won’t rain, right?!)
2017 Volunteer Essentials (from your troop)
Shirts; no tank tops
Camp chair (optional) and/or sit-upon
Shoes: closed toe, no sandals
Certificate of Completion for GS 102 or the
Socks; include an extra pair
Basic Leadership class
Sweatshirt/fleece
Flashlight, lantern w/ spare batteries
Underwear
Pen/pencil
Pocket knife (jackknife) only if you already
Do Not Bring to Camp:
own one
Aerosol cans
Sun screen and bug repellant, MUST be pump
Glass containers
or lotion; no aerosols
Scented items
Toiletries: comb/brush, soap, washcloth,
small towel, toothbrush, toothpaste,
Cold weather supplements:
deodorant, sanitary supplies
Extra blanket for sleeping
Water Bottle, refillable
Jacket and a warm fleece
Warm hat, mittens/gloves, long johns
Sleeping Gear:
Pillow (small)
Sleeping bag (weather appropriate)
Note: Food is not permitted in sleeping
Sleeping pad or mattress, no larger than twin,
spaces
please. Note: no electricity at camp!
Sweat suit/PJs for sleeping
Waterproof ground cloth (or old shower
curtain/plastic table cloth)
