According to the question,
In wrong bill = Rs. ( 3x + 4)
Bill increased by 40% = 2/5
⇒ 10 (x+4 + x-4) = 4/3 (x² - 16)
⇒ 15x = x² - 16
⇒ 15x + 20 = 84 + 7x
⇒ x² - 16 - 15x = 0
⇒ 8x = 64
⇒ x = 16, -1
⇒ x = 8 pairs
∴ So ,the speed of boat in still water = 16km/hr
∴ Total pairs = 8 + 4 = 12 pairs
