You Will Need:
Dowel Rod
String
Button Magnet
75 Small Washers (purchase at Home Depot)
Glue (hot glue works best)
To Assemble Your Activity:
Print the activity 1 sided to 2 sided on cardstock. Laminate if
desired
Cut out the fish
Glue a washer on the backside of each fish near the nose
Tie the string at the end of the dowel rod.
Tie a knot on the other end of the string and glue on the
button magnet
Teaching Directions
Scatter the fish on the table or on the floor. Have the students take
turns catching fish and reading the word on the using the fishing pole.
If a word is read correctly, the student can keep the fish. If the word is
not read correctly the fish must be thrown back.
