Use the graph to estimate how long it will take you to hear thunder from a storm 3 miles away.
a. In the equation, the y-intercept is 0 and the slope is 0.21. To graph the equation, plot the y-intercept (0, 0). Make a
table of values to add a few more points.
b. Follow the line of the graph until y = 3. The x-coordinate is about 14. So, according to the graph, it will take you
about 14 seconds to hear thunder from a storm 3 miles away.
