Graph Quadratic Functions In Standard Form Worksheet Page 6

4) Super Kelly has a super big chore this weekend. He has 400 feet of fence to put up in his back yard so that his
dog Cupcake doesn’t run away again. He wants to find the maximum area possible for Cupcake’s pen (the fenced in
area).
a) He knows that the total perimeter of Cupcake’s pen is 400. Plug that in to the area for perimeter. (Did you
forget it? Better check the application walkthrough video.)
b) We want to find the area though and we know that A = l(w). Since we don’t want to have two variables, solve
your formula in Part A for length.
c) Now plug what you found in Part B into the area formula and put the equation in standard form.
d) Find the maximum area of Cupcake’s pen?
SAT PREP Below are sample SAT questions. The SAT is the main standardized test that colleges look at for
admission. One is multiple choices; the other is free response where you must grid in your answer. Blow it up.
