PROBLEMS INVOLVING VOLUME
Again we will be examining a variety of “real-world” problems that can be solved by
referring to familiar facts from elementary geometry. These problems will usually
require that we compute the volume of one or more simple geometric figures, such as a
rectangular solid, cylinder, cone, or sphere. The formulas for computing such volumes
are shown below.
