b.) Does the line that has the equation y = 2x – 5 pass
through the point (10,10)?
Explain how you know
Using the coordinate pair (10,10); x = 10 and y = 10.
In the equation y = 2x – 5 we can replace y with 10 and x with 10 to give
10 = (2 x 10) – 5 so the equation becomes 10 = 20 – 5
20 – 5 = 15 this is not equal to 10 so the equation does not pass
through the point (10, 10)
