Metric problems
To change from one metric unit to another, we multiply or divide by 10,
100, or 1,000. These conversion factors are all powers of 10 so we can
move the decimal point to the right when multiplying and to the left
when dividing.
Examples: To change meters to centimeters, multiply by 100 or move
the decimal point 2 places to the right.
5.2 m = 520 cm
To change centimeters to meters, divide by 100 or move the decimal
point 2 places to the left.
520 cm = 5.20 m
