FINANCIAL INFORMATION
The United States government requires Bryn Mawr College to ensure that you have adequate financial resources to
meet expenses while studying here. Funds may come from any dependable source including: scholarships,
fellowships, sponsoring agencies, personal or family resources. Documentation of scholarships and fellowships may
be in the form of an official award letter from the College or sponsoring agency; documentation of personal or family
funds must be on original bank letterhead stationary or in the form of a legally binding Form I-864, “Affidavit of
Support”, (available on-line at ) if the support is provided by a
U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
You must submit documentation demonstrating that you will have $
63,260
for the first 12 months of your stay at Bryn Mawr
College. This figure does not include travel expenses to and from your home country.
In making your financial arrangements for your stay at the College, you must realize that:
a) You will not receive additional financial assistance from the College after you arrive.
AND
b) You cannot support yourself through on- or off-campus employment. On-campus employment will be
available, but limited.
If you receive aid in excess of the educational costs (tuition and fees, but not room and board), you will be liable to pay U.S.
federal income tax. The tax rate is 14%, and it is assessed each semester. You may be eligible for a refund the following tax
year after you file a federal return.
