Notification Checklist
Before submitting your notification, tick the boxes to ensure you have all the necessary
documents.
Transfer notification form – fully completed by both current owner(s) and new owner(s) of
the vehicle.
A copy of the full log book V5C (vehicle registration document) in the new owners name
and address.
A current insurance certificate or valid cover note relating to the vehicle and its intended
use as a public hire vehicle. Insurance must be in the name of the new owner(s). If new
owner(s) is not a licensed driver, the insurance certificate must state a named driver.
Transfer notification fee – see current fee table – Payments are now made on-line – you
will receive an e-mail with a link to the ‘deferred payment’. Please ensure that you have
provided a current e-mail address.
If the new owner(s) is not a current Manchester licensed hackney carriage or
private hire driver, please also provide:
An Applicant Declaration. Available on-line at
1 recent passport acceptable colour photograph
EITHER ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
Original EEA Passport. If you do not hold a current EEA passport, you will need to
provide evidence that you are entitled to remain in this country and able to work, OR
Original birth certificate, if issued in the UK - photocopies not accepted. If producing a
birth certificate.
In addition you must also provide official evidence of your National Insurance number, for
example, a P45, P60 or your National Insurance card.
The completed notification form and all requested documents should be submitted
to:
Taxi Licensing, PO Box 532, Town Hall, Manchester, M60 2LA
or
where no original documents are required
