Reading Log

Although the average reading rate is 250 words per minute, people read at different rates of speed, some faster and

some slower. For this reason, Covington High School’s Reading Log can be recorded by time or books read. Record

every book you read in and out of the classroom.

Book equivalents are as follows:

Per book:

 Every 100 pages of a novel should be considered one book.

 Every 100 pages of fictional or non-fictional writing should be considered one book.

 Every 50 pages of technical reading should be considered one book. (articles and manuals)
